Hyeperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is the medical name for excessive sweating, such as sweating when it is not even hot. This sweating can be caused from emotions and adrenaline, and this excessive sweating soaks through clothes, and most deodorants do not work well with patients with this condition.  This is the over production of sweat by the glands.  This is an FDA-approved treatment for hyperhidrosis.

Those that suffer from the condition are most commonly affected on the armpits, the feet and hands leaving them clammy from more reasons than just the Dubai heat.  It can leave patients feeling socially awkward and embarrassed, and many try not shake hands with other.

There is a safe and non-invasive procedure.  It’s botox.

How does it work?

The botox is injected into the areas that commonly sweat.  The botox then stops the nerves communicating with your sweat glands helping to control the amount of sweat produced.  What’s even more interesting is when botox is used on the face which is more commonly known for it only lasts 3 – 5 months, but botox in the armpits, hands and feet results last 1 year.

The botox is injected in a grid formation after a topical anesthetic cream has been placed to numb the site. For hands and feet, our surgeons do recommend for more comfort to do the procedure under a very light sedation as these areas have huge amount of nerves and can be more sensitive.  For the armpits, only a numbing cream is required.

The results

The botox effect starts working after a few days, and the best results start working 2 weeks after the treatment.  The results are effective lasting 1 year.
