What is Liposuction?

Liposuction is the removal of unwanted fat from various areas of the body including stomach, highs, things, knees, back, arms, neck and chin.

What method do your surgeons choose?

LCAS plastic surgeons use VASER Liposelection which is the most up-to-date ultrasound liposuction technique.  The VASER uses ultrasounds waves to differentiate body fat cells from healthy tissues such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissues and so specifically target the fat cells while leaving the healthy tissues in tact.

Do I need to go under a general anesthetic?

No. A liposuction procedure at LCAS is performed under local anesthetic with sedation which means you are guaranteed a pain free and smooth operation with no memory of the procedure without having to go under general anesthetic and therefore reducing the recovery time and lifestyle impact.

What is the actual procedure?

Your surgeon will fill the area to be sculpted with saline solution which helps numb the site and reduces blood loss and bruising. Then using ultrasound energy, small probes transmit sound waves to dissolve the body fat. The emulsified fat flows into the saline solution and is then removed from the body with gentle suction and massage.

What are the results and benefits with VASER Liposuction?

Using Liposuction is a great way to achieve a better overall figure and get rid of unwanted fat deposits. Whilst it is not intended as a weight loss solution it will create a slimmer silhouette and help you look and feel better by removing fat that doesn’t respond to diet and exercise.

How long does the VASER Liposuction typically take? 

The liposelection takes 1-4 hours depending on the amount of fat to be removed and you will then need to stay in the clinic for a further 2 – 4 hours.

What’s the recovery time?

Due to the non-intrusive technology used the recovery time is minimal. Most patients return to normal activities within days and can drive after 48 hours.  Patients will also have to wear a support garment for a week.
