M.Y. WEEKEND PEEL
M.Y. weekend peel is a newly developed medium depth chemical peel invented by dermatologist and cosmetic skin specialists Dr Marina Landau and Dr Yoram Fintsi. This peel uses a unique chemoabrasive technique enabling rejuvenation of the skin to provide a smoother and more youthful appearance. Once the weekend peel is applied, it then continues to be active on the skin for 72 hours; therefore this peel is an ideal procedure prior to a weekend.

We have provided a form on the website if you would like to request further information or an appointment. The cost of a consultation is £130. Alternatively if you prefer the telephone we are happy to take your call.

Is the Weekend Peel suitable for me?
The Weekend Peel is most suitable for patients, both male and female, who do not require deeper, more extreme peels, yet would benefit from medium depth facial peels. These patients include people with sun-damaged skin, superficial wrinkles, precancerous lesions, dyschromias (patchy/uneven skin) and melasma (dark patches, age spots), active acne and superficial acne scars.

During your Weekend Peel
It is best not to wear any makeup when you come in for your peel, and to tie your hair back if possible.

Your skin will be cleaned with a special cleanser to remove any dirt and oil on the skin. Dr Viel will then use a cotton tip applicator to apply a small amount of solution over the face or neck area, until an even erythema and mild frosting of the skin is achieved. This may cause the skin to feel hot and a slight burning sensation may be felt. This sensation will fade within about 5 minutes. After which a mud-like powder is applied and massaged into the skin for 5 minutes. The skin is then rinsed thoroughly and the first solution is reapplied. This may result in a return of the burning sensation, which only lasts a few minutes and may be relieved by a fan.

After the Procedure
The skin will become reddened, and gradually turn darker over the subsequent three days, and skin defects may initially become more prominent. At the end of the third day skin will start to peel. Vaseline is then applied to promote exfoliation of the skin.

Once the skin is completely peeled, it looks fresh and pinkish. Light spontaneous peeling may last for an additional few days. At this stage a patient is advised to apply sun cream and foundation cream. A bleaching cream containing hydroquinone and retina A is recommended for dark-skin patients.

If you have any further questions or queries about this procedure, please feel free to call and speak to either Dr Roberto Viel, Dr Maurizio Viel or any of our nurses.
